Fellowship Groups

  • Fellowship Group is a great place for getting to know a small crowd of people from the church really well.

  • It's a place where you feel at home and supported because everyone is concerned about you. We are able to share with each other in a more intimate atmosphere, where we would perhaps find it hard in a large church meeting.

  • It's a forum for discussions, for exploring the biblical angle and hopefully being challenged on how we represent Jesus Christ in our day to day lives.

  • It's a forum for prayer.

  • Often it's a group of people getting together just to have fun, eat and chat and enjoy each other's company.

Some Comments from fellowship group members

Fellowship Groups give me the opportunity to be myself. Meeting regularly together, helps us to get to know each other, building confidence that encourages us to share joys and disappointments openly and honestly. It helps when others understand the circumstances in which we live and work.

Having belonged to a number of Fellowship Groups over the years, I have found them to be challenging and enjoyable with inspirational Bible study, dynamic discussion and powerful prayer.

Memorable moments? So many answers to prayer, fabulous Christmas meals, trips to France, seeing individuals give so much to help others, and so much more....

What do I offer my Fellowship Group? I'm sure I receive much more than I give. But it is necessary to be committed to attending regularly, to make it a priority in the week.

If you don't belong to a Fellowship Group, do you know what you are missing?

Don't waste any more time.... join one!

Fellowship Group is a spiritual commitment I have chosen to make. It's meeting with a group of Christians and it's where I turn for spiritual support and prayer for personal and professional areas.

We are a small group and each one of us feels a special place there and our attendance is important for the rest of the group. We run a varied programme giving opportunities to discuss Bible doctrine, characters, books of the Bible, etc. We usually plan a fellowship meal within each semester - there have been many good discussions "squashed" round the table.

There has developed within the group a "trust" with each other that allows discussion and prayer on a deeper level. We try to cater physically as well and plan a local walk during the summer months. We have also had evenings learning of the different "sects" who may knock on our door.

You would probably have to ask the other members of the group about my contributions; we share the responsibility of leading each week, no one has the "burden" of preparation every week. This helps us all to grow, both in preparation for the group session as well as the different aspects from the different leader.

Fellowship Group is very important to me. I often work a 60-hour week! But I try to "relax" for 1/2 hour before the meeting each Friday. Friday means the end of another busy week, remembering what paperwork I need to have available over the weekend and.... meeting with my Christian friends. The best end to the week!
